Anesthesiologist – Acute Care Hospital (No CRNA Supervision)
Target Start Date: February 16, 2026
Contract Length: 12–13‑week locum tenens assignment (potential ongoing need)
Openings: 3 anesthesiologists

Schedule
Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours plus required call

Shift Structure:

8‑hour day shifts (approx. 7:00 AM–5:00 PM)

In‑house call required

Weeknight pager call required

Weekend pager call required

Overtime not expected

EMR: Epic
Anesthesia Rooms: 2
Supervision: No CRNA supervision; physicians perform their own cases

Practice Details
Setting: Acute care hospital anesthesia department
Patient Population: Adult and pediatric
Case Types Include:

General anesthesia

Pediatrics

Endoscopy

Cataracts

Additional routine hospital anesthesia cases

Support: Standard perioperative and surgical support teams

Additional Notes:

Privileging timeframe: ~90 days

Multiple locations may require occasional support

Travel assistance available (lodging and mileage caps apply)

Providers must live more than 60 miles from the worksite to qualify for travel support

Name‑clear process required prior to interview

Providers must remain engaged throughout the credentialing process

Requirements
Board‑certified or board‑eligible anesthesiologist

Active state license or willingness to obtain one

DEA required

Ability to take in‑house and pager call

Experience performing own cases (no CRNA supervision)

Ability to work independently in a two‑room anesthesia environment

Case logs may be requested during submission

Clean background preferred; additional screening may be required

Location
Williamsburg, Virginia area — acute care hospital setting with full anesthesia services
Travel support available within set lodging and mileage allowances
