Compensation & Contract
• Compensation: $390–$450/hour
• Call Compensation: $53.95/hour
• Position: 3 FTE
• Contract Term: 1 year with four additional 1-year options to extend

Position Overview
JR Enterprise (JRE), in partnership with the Salem VA Medical Center, is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Anesthesiologists to provide comprehensive anesthesia and perioperative services to Veterans at the Salem VA Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.
This is a 3 FTE, long-term contract opportunity offering physicians the opportunity to provide high-quality care to Veterans in a comprehensive, collaborative, and academically oriented VA healthcare environment.
The Anesthesiologist will provide anesthesia services across a broad range of surgical and procedural specialties, including cardiac, orthopedic, vascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, ENT, urologic, ophthalmologic, and plastic surgery.
Physicians will also provide anesthesia and clinical support for electroconvulsive therapy, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, gastrointestinal and radiological procedures, as well as surgical intensive care, pain management, emergency airway management, and diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography.
Schedule
• Monday – Friday
• Regular Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Call coverage is required
• Weekday call coverage required
• Weekend call coverage required
• Holiday call coverage required
Call responsibilities are approximately:
• 2,860 weekday call hours annually per provider
• 2,496 weekend call hours annually per provider
• 264 holiday call hours annually per provider
Qualifications
• Board Certified or Board Eligible through the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
• Minimum 2 years of anesthesiology experience
• Current, full, and unrestricted medical license
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Ability to meet all applicable VA credentialing and privileging requirements
• Ability to provide comprehensive anesthesia services in a complex clinical environment

  • The schedule is flexible. If you’re looking for a 6-month assignment, we can accommodate that, or if you’re interested in a longer-term opportunity, we can discuss that as well.
  • We’re also open to physicians who are interested in providing just **one week of coverage**.
