About the clinician's workday

The anesthesiologist will provide locum tenens coverage at an operating room facility in Wisconsin, working day shifts in an MD-only model alongside independent CRNAs. The case mix includes obstetric, cardiovascular, and general procedures. Call coverage is required but negotiable, with a strong need for providers who are flexible with shift lengths, including 8, 9, 9.5, 10, and 12 hours (with the greatest need currently for 10- and 12-hour shifts). A weekly hour guarantee is available, and candidates must be willing to take call. The facility is open to full-time ongoing coverage or even a consistent one-day-per-week schedule (such as Tuesdays). At least two first-call shifts per week are required, with weekday call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 AM and weekend call from 8:00 AM to 8:00 AM. First call covers trauma and OB with a 30-minute OB response time, handled solo using pager or TigerConnect. Providers work their call day, and a post-call day off may sometimes be available. The typical rotation starts with two weekday calls plus every other weekend, with potential to move to every third weekend over time.
