Description:
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with experience in cardiology, electrophysiology, and interventional cardiology for a full-time locum tenens assignment. This role supports a high-volume cardiac electrophysiology and interventional cardiology service with a focus on inpatient and outpatient patient care.
The provider will manage a broad adult patient population and work closely with a single assigned clinical team in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. This is a Monday–Thursday schedule with flexible daytime hours and no call requirements.
About the facility:
‣ Acute care hospital setting
‣ Hospital bed size: 270 beds
‣ Practice settings include academic/training, clinic/private practice, and hospital-based care
‣ EMR system: Epic
‣ Support structure: 1 assigned clinical team
‣ Average patient volume: approximately 18 patients per day
‣ Patient population: Adults aged 18–100
Clinical service line includes interventional cardiology and electrophysiology procedures such as:
‣ Right and left heart catheterization (R/LHC)
‣ Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
‣ Balloon angioplasty
‣ Intra-aortic balloon pump support
‣ Pacemaker implantation
‣ ICD implantation (traditional and subcutaneous)
‣ Loop recorder implantation and explantation
‣ Ablation procedures including AVN, SVT, and atrial flutter
Note: Advanced procedures are not performed by the APP but may be encountered in post-procedural patient care.

Job Responsibilities:
‣ Provide full-time electrophysiology and cardiology support Monday–Thursday
‣ Manage outpatient and inpatient cardiology/electrophysiology patients
‣ Collaborate with interventional cardiology and EP teams
‣ Assist in post-procedural management of cardiac device and intervention patients
‣ Monitor and support care for patients undergoing EP and interventional procedures
‣ Work with a multidisciplinary clinical team to ensure continuity of care
‣ Document patient encounters and clinical care using Epic EMR
‣ Support care of adult patients with complex cardiovascular conditions
Qualifications:
‣ Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) certification required
‣ Active state license required (or eligibility to obtain)
‣ DEA registration required
‣ ACLS and BLS certifications required
‣ Experience in cardiology, electrophysiology, or interventional cardiology required or strongly preferred
‣ Strong understanding of cardiac device management and EP procedures preferred
‣ Ability to work independently within a structured clinical team
Working Hours:
‣ Schedule: Monday–Thursday
‣ Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (flexible)
‣ Coverage: Full-time, 40 hours per week
‣ Start Date: September 1, 2026
‣ Duration: Ongoing (approximately 13 weeks initial contract period)
‣ No call required
‣ Block scheduling not required
