Locum Tenens: Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) Nurse Practitioner
Location: Michigan (MI)
Practice Setting: Inpatient Hospital-Based CVICU
Duration: 90–120 Days (Extension potential based on staffing needs)
Credentialing: 90–120 days
Position Overview
Join a high-volume Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit providing staffing support for adult post-operative cardiac surgery patients. This role requires a high level of autonomy in a fast-paced, hospital-based environment. You will work alongside a supervising physician to manage complex cardiovascular cases during the critical recovery phase.
Schedule & Shift Options
Flexible 12-hour shift configurations are available to accommodate department needs. No Call Required.
Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Swing Shift: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM
Coverage: Includes both weekdays and weekends.
Clinical Responsibilities
Acute Patient Management: Manage an average of 12 adult patients per day, focusing on autonomous care within the CVICU.
Post-Operative Care: Direct management of patients recovering from major cardiovascular surgeries (e.g., CABG, Valve replacements, TAVR).
Advanced Monitoring: Perform and interpret advanced cardiovascular monitoring and hemodynamic data.
Documentation: Utilize Epic EMR for all clinical charting and orders.
Submission & Certification Requirements
To ensure agency compliance and expedite the 90-120 day credentialing process, verify the following:
Board Certification: Must be Board Certified (AANP or ANCC). [REQUIRED]
Specialty Training: Acute Care Certification (ACNP/AGACNP) is mandatory. [REQUIRED]
Licensure: Active, unrestricted Michigan (MI) State License. [REQUIRED]
Compliance: Self-Query NPDB Report pulled within the last 30 days is required at the time of presentation.
Life Support: BLS, ACLS, and CALS. [HIGHLY PREFERRED]
Background: Must be eligible for Medicare/Medicaid provider status with a clean malpractice history.
