CVICU Registered Nurse

Job description

BPN Staffing Solutions is seeking a highly skilled CVICU RN to join the 2H-CVICU Cardiac ICU team. This unit specializes in medical and surgical cardiac ICU patients including post-cardiac surgeries, ECMO, LVAD, and multi-organ failure cases. This role requires critical care expertise and advanced cardiovascular knowledge in a dynamic night shift environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage critically ill cardiac patients, including post-operative care
- Perform advanced cardiac monitoring, ventilator support, and sedation titration
- Provide care for patients on ECMO, IABP, and CRRT
- Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and ABGs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across respiratory, radiology, therapy, and pharmacy
- Apply isolation precautions and infection prevention protocols
- Respond effectively to emergencies and Rapid Response activations

Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years CVICU or ICU experience (No new grads)
- Previous charge nurse experience
- Proficiency in Epic charting
- Certifications: BLS & ACLS
- Patient ratio experience: 1:1 to 1:3
- Willingness to float if needed
- Trauma Level II experience preferred

Clinical Skills
- Arterial line & central line management
- PICC care, blood product administration
- Ventilator support: BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, suctioning, chest tube care
- Titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips
- Experience with ECMO, IABP, post-cath & post-surgical cardiac care
- Monitoring: Swan Ganz, PA line, sheath removal
