Cardiovascular Surgeon – Locum Tenens

Location: Germantown, TN
Start Date: January 2027
Assignment Length: 6+ months
Number of Openings: 2
Coverage Needed: 1–2 weeks per month
Setting: On-site hospital coverage

Schedule & Hourly Rate Coverage

* Hourly rate covers Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.

* Weeknight beeper call: 5:00 PM–7:00 AM, Monday–Friday.

* Weekend call: 24-hour coverage from 7:00 AM Saturday through 7:00 AM Sunday and 7:00 AM Sunday through 7:00 AM Monday.

* Weekend coverage is required.

Clinical Details

* Specialty: Cardiovascular Surgery

* Patient Population: Adults

* Patient Volume: Approximately 10 patients on the rounding list and 1–3 surgeries per day.

* Support Staff: APPs and First Assist

* EMR: Epic

* Hospital Settings: University and Germantown campuses

* Bed Capacity: Germantown – approximately 320 beds; University – approximately 500 beds.

Clinical Requirements

* Minimum 7 years of experience.

* Core cardiovascular surgery skills required.

* Structural heart experience preferred.

* Board certification required.

* Active Tennessee medical license required; IMLC candidates considered.

* DEA required.

Credentialing

* Estimated credentialing timeframe: 60–90 days.
