Physician - Surgery - Cardiovascular, Thoracic Surgery - Cardio Thoracic Surgery

Job Details:
• Seeking 2 providers to cover full-time cardiothoracic/cardiovascular surgery needs
• Coverage primarily for urgent backup cases with 24-hour call responsibilities
• Call duties can be split between two providers (would not need to be on-site)
• One provider required on-site Wednesdays for clinic coverage (7am-3pm)
• Guaranteed 8 hours per day with overtime applying after 8 hours for clinic days
• All other shifts are 24-hour call with 3 hours of patient contact included
• Handle 5-8 patient encounters per shift
• ECMO cannulation and management required
• Perform general cardiovascular/thoracic surgery (open and endoscopic preferred)
• Conduct coronary artery bypass surgery (on pump and off pump required)
• Perform valvular repair and replacement procedures
• Handle aneurysm repair (cardiac and aorto-thoracic)
• Manage left ventricular assist devices and IABP insertion
• Evaluate and manage acute volume/blood pressure issues
• Active California license and DEA required
• Board certification required or truly board eligible (within 3-5 years of residency)
• BLS certification required
• Clean malpractice history and NPDB required for temporary privileges
• 15-day credentialing timeframe for clean files, 60-90 days for files with issues

Compensation:
