Facility:
This well-established medical center is a 250-bed facility featuring 30 ICU beds and serves an adult and geriatric patient population. The facility maintains a collaborative environment with multiple Interventional Cardiologists on staff and offers strong provider support throughout locum coverage.

Physician - Interventional Cardiology

Job Details:

• Provide locum Interventional Cardiology coverage in an inpatient/call setting
• Weekday onsite coverage: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Weekday evening on-call: Monday - Friday, 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Weekend on-call: Saturday 7:00 AM - Monday 7:00 AM
• Potential for some rounding responsibilities with approximately 2 inpatient admissions per physician per day
• Moderate call volume with STEMI activations averaging less than every other day; providers will receive more phone calls while on-call than emergent callbacks
• STEMI call is aligned with unassigned call and noninvasive coverage
• Other Interventional Cardiologists will be present during locum coverage
• No supervision of other healthcare providers required
• Patient population: Adult and geriatric
• Documentation system: EPIC
• Required procedures include: Balloon Angioplasties, Coronary Angioplasty, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), Heart Catheterization, Medical Management of Vascular Disease, Coronary Angiograms, Embolic Protection, Carotid Artery Stenting, and Atherectomy
• Active Virginia state license required
• Board Certification and BLS/ACLS required
• Clean malpractice history required
• Self-Query NPDB report required at time of presentation (pulled within 30 days)
• Emergency or temporary privileges available for credentialing
• Travel reimbursement provided for flight, hotel, and rental car
