NON-INVASIVE CARDIOLOGIST - LOCUM TENENS

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Non-Invasive Cardiologist for a locum tenens opportunity in Bellingham, Washington, primarily providing hospital-based support.

The physician must be experienced with cardiac nuclear medicine and capable of reading Echocardiograms, Cardiac Nuclear studies, and TEE. Nuclear Board Certification is not required.

The client may run emergency/fast privileges, depending on applicable role exceptions.

COMPENSATION

Pay Rate: $300/Hr. | Details can be discussed further after applying to the job posting.

‣ Weekend Call: 4 hours of gratis time required during the 24-hour weekend call

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

‣ Provide non-invasive cardiology services in a hospitalist-style role
‣ Perform inpatient rounding and manage admissions
‣ Evaluate and treat adult patients
‣ Provide scheduled daytime coverage
‣ Provide weekday overnight and weekend call coverage
‣ Perform cardioversions
‣ Perform and interpret TEE studies
‣ Read Echocardiograms and Cardiac Nuclear studies
‣ Provide cardiovascular disease services within the requested privileges
‣ Collaborate with other providers and practice independently as required
‣ Provide emergency coverage when emergency/fast privileges are granted
‣ Complete required cardiovascular disease case documentation from the previous 24 months

REQUIRED CLINICAL ACTIVITY

Applicants must provide documentation of cardiovascular disease services representative of the scope and complexity of the privileges requested during the previous 24 months.

QUALIFICATIONS

‣ Physician specializing in Cardiology
‣ Non-Invasive Cardiology experience
‣ Hospital-based or hospitalist cardiology experience
‣ Cardiac nuclear medicine experience required
‣ Experience reading Echocardiograms, Cardiac Nuclear studies, and TEE required
‣ Experience performing cardioversions and TEE procedures required
‣ Adult patient experience required
‣ BLS certification required
‣ ACLS certification required
‣ Certifications must be from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, as applicable
‣ EPIC experience required
‣ Nuclear Board Certification is not required
‣ Must meet the scope and complexity requirements of the requested privileges

LICENSURE & CREDENTIALING

‣ Washington State license and DEA preferred to be in hand
‣ Expedited credentialing expected
‣ IMLC candidates accepted
‣ Non-licensed candidates accepted as of 02/24/2026
‣ WA license and DEA in hand are preferred due to the expedited credentialing process

WORKING HOURS

‣ Shift: Day
‣ Standard Shift: 7:00 AM-3:00 PM
‣ Daily Shift: 8-hour schedule, listed as 7:00 AM-5:00 PM in the detailed schedule information
‣ Regular Schedule: 5 days
‣ Call: Approximately 1:6
‣ Weekday Call: 1-2 weekday call nights on average
‣ Weekend Call: One call weekend
‣ Coverage: Scheduled shifts plus on-call coverage
‣ Block Schedule: No
‣ 24-Hour Weekend Call: Includes 4 hours of gratis time
‣ Holiday Call: May apply according to the observed holiday schedule
