Job Title: Outpatient Psychiatrist (Adult)
Location: Northern California

Position Overview
A community-based behavioral health organization is seeking a dedicated Outpatient Psychiatrist to provide high-quality psychiatric care to adult patients in an outpatient setting. This role offers a structured schedule, manageable patient volume, and dedicated administrative time to support thorough, patient-centered care.

Job Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations (60 minutes for new patients)

Provide ongoing medication management and follow-up care (30 minutes per visit)

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans

Diagnose and treat a range of psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and other serious mental illnesses

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, case managers, and social workers

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record

Participate in care coordination and discharge planning as needed

Schedule & Workflow
Outpatient adult population (18+)

Structured visit times:

New evaluations: 60 minutes

Follow-ups: 30 minutes

Dedicated documentation time: 1 hour daily

Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, daytime hours

No call required

Qualifications
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry

Active California medical license (or ability to obtain)

DEA license required

Experience in outpatient or community mental health preferred

Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills

Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, with dedicated documentation time built into the schedule
Participate in care coordination, treatment planning, and discharge planning as needed
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and best clinical practices
Provide patient-centered, evidence-based psychiatric care in an outpatient setting
Qualifications

Qualifications
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Active California medical license (or ability to obtain)
Active DEA license required
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in outpatient or community mental health preferred
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skills
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
