Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Needed in San Francisco, CA | Inpatient | Flexible Coverage

Job description

This is an inpatient adolescent psychiatry opportunity at an academic hospital in San Francisco, California, spanning scheduled clinical hours plus call over an assignment of approximately 26 weeks. The facility needs a provider to cover either two weekends per month plus the following Monday and Tuesday, or full-time weekday coverage in addition to weekends. Monday and Tuesday run 8:00a-5:00p onsite followed by night call until 8:00a; weekends involve about six hours of rounding starting at 8:00a, then on call until 8:00a the next day. During night call, the provider places admission orders for accepted arrivals. Volume runs 6-12 patients per day. Credentialing takes approximately 60-90 days, with no emergency privileges, and the facility will only consider providers living in California.

The physician develops comprehensive, individualized treatment plans, provides psychopharmacology and psychotherapies for children and adolescents, manages challenging behaviors with de-escalation, leads a multidisciplinary team, and collaborates with families. Documentation is in Epic.

Candidates should be Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, or at minimum Board Certified in General Psychiatry with a completed CAP fellowship, with an active California license and CA DEA including Schedule 2/2N, and BLS (AHA).
