Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Locums – San Francisco, CA | Flexible 2-Week Coverage

Job description

We are seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist for a locum tenens opportunity in San Francisco, California. This position offers flexible monthly coverage with a mix of onsite care, rounding, and call.

Assignment Details
Location: San Francisco, CA

Coverage Options:
2 weekends/month + the following Monday and Tuesday, or
2 weeks of full-time weekday coverage in addition to weekend coverage
Patient Volume: Approximately 6–12 patients per day
Important: Facility will only consider providers currently living in California

Schedule & Call
Monday & Tuesday
Onsite: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Night call following shift through 8:00 AM
Admission orders may be required for incoming patients overnight

Weekends:
Approximately 6 hours of onsite rounding beginning at 8:00 AM
Once rounding is complete, provider transitions to call through 8:00 AM the following day

Clinical Scope:
Child & adolescent psychiatric evaluations and treatment
Psychopharmacology and medication management
Individualized treatment planning
Family/guardian collaboration
Behavioral management and de-escalation
Leadership of multidisciplinary treatment teams
Care for patients from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and family backgrounds

Requirements:
Board Certified in General Psychiatry with completed Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship
Strong adolescent psychiatry and medication-management experience
Understanding of adolescent development and family systems
Knowledge of legal, educational, and safeguarding considerations related to adolescent psychiatric care
