Locum Tenens Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist – San Francisco, California
Job description
We are seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in San Francisco, CA. This is a unique part-time position offering a predictable schedule of two weekends per month plus the following Monday and Tuesday.

Coverage: 2 weekends per month + following Monday/Tuesday
Patient Population: Adolescents
Average Census: Approximately 6–12 patients per day
EMR: Epic
Credentialing: Approximately 60–90 days
Schedule
Weekend Coverage
Approximately 6 hours of onsite rounding beginning at 8:00 AM
Once rounding is completed, provider transitions to call coverage through 8:00 AM the following morning
Weekend coverage includes rounding + 24-hour call responsibilities
Monday & Tuesday
Onsite from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Night call following the onsite shift through 8:00 AM
Night call includes placing admission orders for accepted patients arriving during the shift
Clinical Responsibilities
Psychiatric evaluation and treatment of adolescent patients
Psychopharmacology and medication management
Development of individualized treatment plans
Management of challenging behaviors and psychiatric presentations
Therapeutic interventions and de-escalation when necessary
Collaboration with patients' parents and guardians
Leadership and collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team
Consideration of developmental, family, cultural, socioeconomic, educational, and legal factors affecting adolescent care
Requirements
Active California medical license required
Provider must currently reside in California
Strong experience treating children and adolescents
Comfortable managing psychiatric medications and leading multidisciplinary care
This is an excellent opportunity for a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist seeking a predictable, part-time locums schedule of approximately two weekends per month plus Monday/Tuesday coverage while working with an adolescent patient population.
