Outpatient Psychiatrist / Medical Director (Contract)

We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to serve in a combined clinical and leadership role as an Outpatient Psychiatrist / Medical Director. This is a flexible contract opportunity with a strong emphasis on both patient care and program leadership.

Position Details:

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week (open to reduced schedule for exceptional candidates)
Contract Length: 3 months, with potential for extension
Setting: 100% outpatient

Clinical Responsibilities (50%):

Medication management (15–30 minute follow-ups)
New patient evaluations (60 minutes)
Patient volume: 6–10 per day
Population: Adults (18+)
Preference for candidates comfortable seeing all ages (children 4–17 and adults), though not required
Case mix: General psychiatry with occasional higher-acuity cases

Administrative / Leadership Responsibilities (50%):

Supervise experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners
Participate in team meetings, risk committee, and policy reviews
Assist with licensing and compliance oversight
Actively contribute as part of the leadership team

Support Staff Includes:

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (Psych NPs)
Clinicians
Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs)

Requirements:

Board Certification in General Psychiatry (required)
Active Medicare and Medicaid enrollment (required)

On-Call Responsibilities:

24/7 on-call coverage (phone consults only)
Approximately 6–7 calls per week (varies)
Responsibilities include:
Staff consultation
Medication-related questions
Urgent lab review and guidance
