Locum Medical Geneticist | Call Coverage, Neonatal Genetics | Orange, CA | Week-Long Blocks, Locums or Perm

Job description

Start: November 2, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 26 weeks; open to locums-to-perm or permanent
Coverage: Medical genetics call coverage, inpatient and outpatient
Schedule: Week-long blocks, Monday 8:00 to Monday 8:00; at least 1–2 weeks per month (20–26 weeks of coverage available)
Call: 24/7 telephone call with callback within 30–60 minutes
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital
Patient Population: Primarily neonates; limited adult cancer genetics

• Neonatal genetics consults (about 90% from the newborn nursery and ICU)
• Limited adult cancer genetics
• Calls from the emergency department or call center
• Severe cardiac and metabolic crisis patients are managed elsewhere
• Documentation in Epic

Requirements
• Board Certified in Medical Genetics
• Active California license required
