Pediatric Medical Geneticist Needed in Missouri | Flexible Employment Options
Job description
A nationally recognized children’s hospital in Missouri is seeking a Pediatric Medical Geneticist to join an established genetics program beginning in October 2026.
The ideal schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with night and weekend call coverage. Physicians with alternative availability or another workable coverage arrangement are still encouraged to respond.
The physician will provide outpatient genetic evaluations, inpatient consultations, and management of biochemical and metabolic disorders. Inpatient consultations may involve the PICU, NICU, and pediatric units. The patient population is primarily pediatric, with occasional adult patients.
The current clinical volume is approximately four to five patients per day and may increase as additional coverage is added. Support includes genetic counselors, a genetics nurse, and a genetic counseling assistant. The facility uses Epic.
Board certification in Genetics is required. Experience with metabolic conditions and strong diagnostic skills are highly preferred. An active Missouri license is preferred, but licensing assistance may be available. An Illinois license would also be beneficial for occasional telehealth consultations.
This opening may be structured as a locum tenens assignment, permanent placement, or locum-to-permanent arrangement. Let’s discuss what would make the position worthwhile for you.
- Four-day clinical schedule, Monday through Thursday
- Established genetics team with strong clinical support
- Locum tenens, permanent, or locum-to-permanent options
