Job description
Job Summary
Seeking a Point of Care Lab Technician to perform waived laboratory testing in a mobile or remote setting under the supervision of a Laboratory Manager. Responsibilities include specimen collection, point-of-care testing, quality control, data entry, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring accurate, timely reporting of results while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform point-of-care testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Molecular, and Coagulation.
Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and capillary collection.
Process and accession specimens, enter patient demographics and test orders into the laboratory information system (LIS).
Perform quality control, maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and document results.
Monitor STAT testing turnaround times and maintain laboratory inventory.
May operate a mobile laboratory vehicle when required.
Requirements
Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Familiarity with laboratory processes and workflow.
High school diploma or equivalent.
California licensure as required (minimum Licensed Medical Laboratory Technician or Licensed Vocational Nurse qualified for waived testing).
Previous phlebotomy and laboratory testing experience preferred.
Excellent communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required.
