Monday - Friday
+ night and weekend call
Full time preferred but flexible to availability


Work Details:

Support staff: Histology: 2 full time histotechs, who gross biopsies and gallbladders, attend FNAs performed by Radiology and Bone Marrows performed by Oncology; few special stains done inhouse, Immunohistochemistry performed by LabCorp with images available online. Main lab: Full time Lab system director with experienced senior tech for each department

Average amount of callback per night: consists mostly of Blood Bank issues (1-2/week) – Call TBD with the other docs but there will be weeknight and weekend call needs

Patient population/age: Mostly adult; rare pediatric peripheral smear reviews, otherwise, for peds specimens are tonsils and appendix.

Department description (trauma level, etc.): Level 4 trauma floating between 4 locations

Special procedures or skills required for the position: comfortable with occasional frozen section, cytology: urines, Bronch washes and brushes, pleural and ascitic fluids. Thyroid FNAs go to LabCorp.
