Location: Elkins, WV
Assignment Type: Locum Tenens

Coverage Type: Clinical + Call
Schedule Details
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Call: Weeknight and/or weekend call required

Work Details
Support Staff:
2 full-time histotechs (gross biopsies & gallbladders, assist with FNAs and bone marrows)
Full-time lab system director
Senior techs in each department
Immunohistochemistry via LabCorp (digital access to images)
Call Volume: Light; primarily Blood Bank issues (avg. 1–2 per week)
Patient Population: Mostly adults; rare pediatric cases limited to tonsils, appendices, and smear reviews
Facility Type: Level IV trauma; coverage shared among 4 locations
Special Procedures:
Frozen sections (occasional)
Cytology: urine, bronchial washes/brushes, pleural and ascitic fluids
Thyroid FNAs sent to LabCorp
Practice Setting: Hospital-based
Requirements
Board Certification: Required (Pathology)
State License: West Virginia required (IMLC accepted)
DEA: Required
Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
Experience: Prior pathology experience preferred
Credentialing: 30–60 days
Willing to License: IMLC candidates only
