Job description

Northwest Medical Center ICU - HBP - R5 is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner for inpatient ICU locum tenens coverage. This is a dynamic role managing both Medical-Surgical and Cardiovascular ICUs, totaling 35 beds. Providers will handle an average 13 patients per shift with minimal after-hours call responsibility.

Position Details:
- Start: ASAP | End: Ongoing
- Setting: Inpatient ICU
- Beds: 20 MSICU + 15 CVICU
- Shifts: Scheduled clinic hours with occasional beeper call
- EMR: Cerner
- Supportive ICU team and protocols in place

Call Overview:
- Type: Beeper
- Response Time: 30 minutes
- Average Calls per 24 hrs: 4
- Phone Consults: 4 | Patients Seen: 4 | Admissions: 4
- Call Frequency: “Almost Never” but included
- Callback rate: Consistent with standard shifts

Requirements:
- Board-certified or eligible NP
- Must be licensed in Arizona
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Fellowship training preferred
- ICU experience required; must manage critical patients independently
- Estimated credentialing time: 120 days
- Temp privileges: Available
