Hearts, High Acuity & No Clinic — CT Surgery NP/PA Locums in San Francisco, CA

Step into a high-acuity cardiothoracic surgery role where your skills matter, autonomy is real, and every shift brings complex, meaningful cases—without clinic time.

Schedule
• Start Date: 4/6/2026
• Contract Length: 6 months
• Shifts: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• Minimum 2 weekend shifts/month and 5–6 night shifts/month

Clinical Focus
• Manage post-op cardiothoracic surgery patients in CTICU and acute care floors
• Cases include heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support (VA ECMO, Impella, IABP)
• First responder for CTS patients; daily rounds with surgeons, fellows, HF/Transplant & ICU teams
• Procedures include admissions/consults, chest tube and pacing wire removal, arterial sheath/IABP removal
• Peri-op planning, diagnostics, treatments, discharges, transfers, and patient/family education
• EMR: Epic
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

OR Opportunity (Optional)
• OR time available for EVH-trained providers
• ~30% OR time if qualified; minimal 1st assist due to fellows on service

• Willing to License
• No clinic; ~50% ICU time with strong team support and autonomy
• OR time available for EVH trained providers
