Job Details:

  • Seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join the Neurocritical Care team
  • Advanced Practice Providers serve as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering care for critical neuroscience patients
  • Patient population includes complex strokes, skull base surgery, status epilepticus, tumor resections, spinal cord injury, DBS, and other complex neurological and neurosurgical diseases
  • Rotate between the intensive care unit and stepdown units
  • Full-time, rotating day/night schedule with premium differentials offered
  • No call required
  • Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
  • Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs in consultation with physicians and care team members, including referrals to specialists
  • Provide appropriate treatment for problems within scope of practice and identify issues requiring physician referral
  • Join the Ayer Neuroscience Institute, a rapidly expanding institute with over 200 neuroscience physicians and advanced practitioners
  • Access to expertise in vascular neurology, neuro-oncology, neuromuscular neurology, movement disorders, epilepsy, headache and pain management, cognitive neurology, neurosurgery, neuro-ophthalmology, and general neurology
  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License required (or eligible)
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in an acute care or neurocritical care setting required
  • Must be certified or board-eligible as a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
