Job Details:

  • Seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join a nationally recognized Neurocritical Care team
  • Advanced Practice Providers are part of the Ayer Neuroscience Institute, a multidisciplinary team focused on neurological and neurosurgical diseases and related disorders
  • Patient population includes complex strokes, skull base surgery, status epilepticus, tumor resections, spinal cord injury, DBS, and other complex neurological diseases
  • APPs rotate between the intensive care unit and stepdown units
  • Full-time schedule consisting of three 13-hour rotating shifts with no call requirements
  • Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
  • Develop plans for further patient evaluation in collaboration with physicians and care team members, including referrals to specialists as appropriate
  • Provide treatment for problems within scope of practice and identify issues requiring physician referral
  • Must hold an unrestricted State of Connecticut medical license or be eligible to obtain one
  • Must be a certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a critical care or neurocritical care setting required

Compensation:
