Opportunity:
Advanced Practitioners - Critical Care

Job Details:

  • Provide high-quality, holistic, and cost-effective advanced practice care to patients and families across the healthcare continuum as part of a NeuroStroke Program
  • Deliver comprehensive advanced practice care to achieve or maintain optimal health outcomes, manage disease, and reduce risk of illness
  • Exercise independent clinical judgment in the care of individuals, families, and populations across the lifespan
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary neuroscience team caring for patients with stroke and other blood-supply-related disorders of the brain and spinal cord
  • Manage complex neurologic and cerebrovascular conditions including brain aneurysms, carotid artery disease, cervical artery dissection, vascular malformations, and other complex neurologic conditions
  • Practice under the direction of attending physicians and report through a matrix structure that may include a Nurse Manager, Nursing Director, and/or Medical Director
  • Work collaboratively alongside neurology attending physicians, rehabilitation specialists, nursing, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Receive extensive onboarding and training throughout the full continuum of stroke care, including structured hands-on training in medication management, neuroradiology, condition-specific physical examinations, and evidence-based treatment planning
  • Access state-of-the-art clinical and informatics technology
  • Must hold completion of an ARC-PA accredited program or an approved Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC) and/or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) program
  • Must hold certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Current PA or APRN license required
  • Board certification required in accordance with Connecticut state law
  • Prior specialty experience in neurology or stroke care may be required
