Advanced Practitioners - Critical Care

Job Details:

• Seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join a Surgical Critical Care team in an inpatient ICU setting
• APPs serve as an essential part of the multidisciplinary team planning and delivering care for complex surgical and trauma critical care patients
• Patient population includes complex trauma, transplant, vascular, general surgery, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, and other critical care patients
• Full-time, permanent position with rotating day/night shifts and premium differentials offered
• No call requirements
• Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients
• Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs including referrals to other health team members or specialists
• Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of practice and refer appropriately when needed
• Minimum of 1-2 years of recent critical care experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in an ICU setting required
• Proven ability to independently manage ICU patients, including proficiency in ventilator management, resuscitation, and critical care procedures
• Must be comfortable working independently in a night shift environment
• Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License required (or eligible)
• Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• Dedicated support through the Office of Advanced Practice for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants
• Access to state-of-the-art EPIC clinical and informatics technology to promote improved patient outcomes and streamlined continuity of care
