Advanced Practitioners - Critical Care
Job Details:
- Per diem Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner opportunity within a Neurocritical Care team
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering care for critical neuroscience patients with neurological and neurosurgical diseases and related disorders
- Patient population includes complex strokes, skull base surgery, status epilepticus, tumor resections, spinal cord injury, DBS, and other complex diseases
- Rotate between intensive care unit and stepdown units
- Inpatient, critical care setting with rotating shifts and no call schedule
- Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients
- Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs in consultation with physicians and care team members, including referrals to specialists as appropriate
- Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of practice and refer outside-of-scope issues to the physician
- Must hold an unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License or be eligible
- Must be a certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in an acute care or neurocritical care setting required
