Advanced Practitioners - Critical Care
Job Details:
- Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners
- Inpatient cardiac surgery setting within an 18-bed Cardiac Surgery ICU, step-down unit, and floor settings
- Full-time schedule: 3x13-hour night shifts with premium night and weekend differentials offered
- No call required
- Manage preoperative and postoperative care for cardiac surgery patients
- Perform bedside procedures including central venous and arterial line placement and intra-aortic balloon pump removal
- Provide care for patients undergoing advanced procedures including heart transplants, ECMO, mechanical circulatory support, and TAVR
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and closely monitor patient progress
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and seamless transitions of care between ICU, step-down, and floor settings
- Provide patient and family education regarding the surgical process and recovery journey
- Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (APRN) preferred with 1+ years of relevant experience in cardiac surgery, critical care, or surgical settings
- New graduates are welcome to apply
- Must be eligible for licensure in the state of Connecticut
