NP/PA Critical Care – Locum Tenens – Atlanta, GA

Job description

A multi-specialty community hospital in the Atlanta, GA area is seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for a locum tenens assignment in its medical-surgical ICU. The provider will work alongside attending physicians to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Managing critically-ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting (typical ratio: 10-15 ICU patients per APP, with attending MD support)
- Collaborating with attending MDs on plan of care and communicating dynamic changes throughout the shift
- Conducting ongoing patient assessments, order entry (Cerner EMR), and thorough documentation of H&Ps, consultations, follow-up notes, and procedure notes
- Interpreting diagnostic testing, participating in multi-disciplinary rounds, and performing invasive procedures including central line and arterial line insertions

Qualifications:
- ACNP (must be acute-care certified if NP) or PA with valid national and state licensure
- Minimum 1-2 years of APP experience in an ICU setting
- Proficiency with ICU procedures, specifically central and arterial line insertions; case logs will be requested during credentialing
- Local providers preferred

Schedule: Full-time night shift, 3 x 12s weekly, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (includes sign-out time).

Compensation: $175/hour bill rate with overtime premium of $50/hour.
