ICU Locum Need in Massachusetts
Job description
Position Overview
• Specialty: ICU / Critical Care
• Provider Type: Acute Care NP or PA
• Practice Setting: ICU within a teaching hospital
• Patient Population: Adults
• Census/Beds: Average daily census of 7; 10 ICU beds
• Clinical Scope:
o Bread and butter ICU and Med Surg care
o May see 1–2 burn patients
o No procedures required (no intubations, lines, vents, EVDs, transplants, ECHO, or complex neuro/stroke)
o APP functions as a responding clinician only (no billing responsibilities)
• Support Model:
o 4 supervised APPs on staff
o MD supervises day shifts; fellow/attending supervises night shifts
o Multidisciplinary support with attending physicians and APPs
• Travel: No travel provided (local candidates preferred within 60 mile radius)

Schedule and Coverage
• Coverage Type: Full time, rotating day/night shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Shift Times:
o Days: 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM
o Nights: 6:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend Definition: Friday night counts as a weekend shift
• Typical Day:
o Morning rounds with attending
o Task completion
o Afternoon follow up rounds
• Overtime: Paid for hours worked beyond 40 per week

Provider Requirements
• Board Certification: Required in Acute Care with ICU experience
• Licensure: Active Massachusetts license required (facility will not license)
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years critical care experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS
• DEA: Required
• Background: Clean background required
