Job description
Billings Clinic Hospital is actively seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with extensive Surgical ICU experience for an inpatient-only locum tenens assignment to cover a provider's maternity/paternity leave. This opportunity runs through November 8, 2025, and offers flexible 12-hour shifts without on-call responsibility.
The ideal candidate will be capable of managing high-acuity surgical ICU patients in collaboration with a team of fellowship-trained trauma surgeons. The role involves direct inpatient management without hospital admissions or supervisory duties.
Assignment Details:
- Setting: Inpatient Surgical ICU
- Shift Options: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
- Weekly Schedule: 3 shifts/week (mix of days, nights, and weekends)
- EMR: Cerner
- Facility: Level 1 Trauma Center | Stroke Certified
- Department: 10 ICU beds | 10 patients per shift (assigned)
- Call: None
Requirements:
- Board certified or board eligible PA or NP
- Minimum certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Experience in surgical or trauma ICU settings required
- No hospital privileges granted via temporary credentials
- Credentialing timeline: 60–90 days
- Facility prefers a single provider to cover the full assignment
- No license requirement at time of submission; must be eligible to practice in Montana
