Nurse Practitioner – Critical Care (Acute Care Hospital)
Target Start Date: February 15, 2026
Contract Length: 2‑week assignment (ASAP short‑term coverage)
Schedule
Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours, no call
Shift Structure & Expectations:
Day shift only
7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (12‑hour shifts)
Schedule TBD; provider availability per week will determine final shift allocation
Emergency privileging available
EMR: Not specified
Practice Details
Setting:
Acute care hospital with critical care & emergency presentations
Rural/critical‑access environment; broad case mix
Patient Population:
Adult and mixed acuity critical care patients
15–20 patients per day
Support:
Full hospital support services
Must function autonomously in a rural, high‑variability setting
Clinical Responsibilities Include:
Evaluation and management of critical care and emergent patients
Broad procedural and clinical exposure (“see everything if it comes in”)
Coordination with attending physicians and hospital teams
Managing patients in a fast‑paced, resource‑limited environment
Requirements
Role: Nurse Practitioner – Critical Care
Board Certification: Board‑certified or board‑eligible accepted
Experience: Prior critical care or high‑acuity experience strongly preferred
License: Active state license required (not willing to license)
DEA/CSR: DEA required
Certifications: Required per facility standard (e.g., BLS/ACLS typically expected)
Credentialing Timeframe: Emergency privileging enabled for rapid start
Location
Potsdam, New York — acute care hospital serving a rural/critical‑access region
