Clinical Focus
Trauma ICU
Trauma inpatient/ward service
Surgical critical care
Post-resuscitation and ongoing trauma management
Providers respond to trauma activations when patients arrive, but do not staff or cover the Emergency
Department .
Key Responsibilities
Manage critically ill trauma patients in the ICU and inpatient trauma units
Perform comprehensive assessments, daily rounds, and ongoing clinical management
Respond to trauma activations and assist with initial resuscitation, then assume inpatient care
Order, interpret, and document labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies
Perform procedures within scope of practice and granted privileges
Collaborate closely with trauma surgeons, intensivists, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams
Participate in care planning, discharge coordination, and continuity of care
Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with DoD and facility standards
Support trauma program initiatives, quality improvement, and patient safety efforts

425-bed academic medical center
Department of Defense’s only Level I Trauma Center
High-acuity trauma and critical-care population
Mission-driven care supporting military readiness
Requirements
Active NP or PA license in any U.S. state
Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
Must have a minimum of 1 Year of experience in Intensive Care/Critical Care
Board Certification
U.S. citizenship required

- Full Time, On-Site
- 12-hour shifts (may extend up to 14 hours depending on acuity)
- Day Shifts, Coverage includes Monday–Sunday rotation
