Acute Care NP/PA – Locum Tenens – Lubbock, TX Area

Job description

A hospital-based health system in the Lubbock, TX area is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) for locum tenens coverage in its ICU. This is an inpatient, clinical-only assignment with 12-hour shifts (day and night rotations available) and no overnight on-site call. Coverage begins late July 2026 with potential for ongoing shifts.

Day-to-day responsibilities include admissions, discharges, running codes, and procedures such as intubation, central line, dialysis line, and arterial line placement (volume varies, typically 0-3 per week). A physician is available on site during the day and by phone overnight. Providers with neuro-ICU experience are a plus, as placement on the neurology/neurosurgery ICU may be available.

Requirements: active state license, DEA, and current ACLS and BLS certification. Board certified (or truly board eligible) Acute Care Nurse Practitioner required due to ICU acuity. 1-2 years of experience preferred. Epic EMR. Housing, travel, and rental car provided.
