Join a premier Level I Trauma Center as a Cardiothoracic ICU Advanced Practice Provider in a high-acuity, collaborative critical care environment. This opportunity offers exposure to complex post-operative cardiac surgery patients, advanced mechanical circulatory support, and a wide variety of ICU procedures while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Position Highlights

733-bed Level I Trauma Center
Dedicated 12-bed Cardiothoracic ICU
Flexible day or night shifts available (7a–8p or 7p–8a)
Epic EMR
Collaborative team of physicians and APPs
No surgical assisting required

Clinical Responsibilities

Manage critically ill patients recovering from:
Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
Valve Surgery
Aortic Surgery
Thoracic Surgery
Perform daily critical care management, evaluations, and consults
Order and interpret diagnostic studies
Respond to emergent and rapidly changing patient conditions
Deliver evidence-based perioperative and critical care management

Advanced Critical Care Experience
Work closely with cardiothoracic surgeons and intensivists managing:

ECMO
LVADs
RVADs
Impella Devices
Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABPs)

Procedural Opportunities
Candidates may perform:

Central Line Placement
Arterial Line Placement
Dialysis Catheter Placement
Bronchoscopy
Chest Tube Management

Requirements

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant
Prior Cardiac Surgery ICU or Cardiothoracic ICU experience required
Ability to function independently in a high-acuity ICU setting
Strong critical care decision-making skills
Commitment to patient-centered, team-based care
