Critical Care PA – Locum Tenens – Boston, MA Area
Job description
A leading academic teaching hospital in the Boston, MA area is seeking a Critical Care Physician Assistant for a locum tenens assignment. The provider will function as a "responding clinician" in an Adult ICU/Med Surg setting.
Position Details:
- Practice Setting: Adult ICU (10 beds, average daily census of 7)
- EMR: Epic
- Coverage: Day and night rotation, 6a-7p / 6p-7a, 13-hour shifts
- Schedule: Full time with rotational weekends and holidays. Friday nights count as a weekend. Provider does NOT need to work 3x13s every weekend; minimum is 2 weekend shifts per month.
- Patient Population: Adult; bread and butter ICU and Med Surg with 1-2 burn patients
- Procedures: None required (no intubations, lines, vents, transplants, ECHO, heads, EVD, or complex neuro stroke)
Requirements:
- Active MA license required (facility will not license)
- Board Certification in Acute Care with ICU experience
- Minimum 2 years of critical care experience
- ACLS, BLS certifications
- DEA required
- Credentialing timeframe: 90 days
Setting & Travel:
This assignment is best suited for local Boston-area clinicians who can drive or use public transit. No travel reimbursement provided. 60-mile local radius. Overtime available beyond 40 hours per week. There is no billing done for APPs in this role.
