Critical Care Locums Opportunity in Northern California | Flexible Block Coverage

Critical Care – Northern California
Highlights:
• Day shift only schedule (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) with no overnight call requirements
• Opportunity to work across a diverse health system including community hospitals and a Level I Trauma Center
• Strong support structure with hospitalists, emergency physicians, residents, division leadership, and backup physician coverage available
Coverage Needs:
Multiple block opportunities available September through December 2026. Providers must be able to commit to at least three full coverage blocks and cannot split individual blocks.
Practice Details:
• Adult patient population
• Average census of 5–9 patients per day
• Epic EMR
• Academic and hospital-based setting
• Modern equipment and technology available for all standard intensivist procedures
• Procedures include intubation, central and arterial line placement, pigtail chest tubes, thoracentesis, lumbar punctures, and related critical care procedures
Requirements:
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care
• Active California medical license required
• California DEA required
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 3–5 years of attending-level experience
• Previous locum tenens experience required
• Excellent communication skills required
• Must be comfortable practicing independently
