Locum - Physician - Pulmonary Critical Care Needed in Loveland, CO

PULMONOLOGY & CRITICAL CARE PHYSICIAN

Start: January 2027
Coverage: Ongoing
Setting: Inpatient / Critical Care
Trauma Levels: Level I, II, and III
EMR: Epic

SCHEDULE

✓ 12-hour shifts: 7 AM–7 PM and 7 PM–7 AM
✓ Day shifts include inpatient rounding
✓ Night coverage may be in-house or offsite pager call depending on assignment
✓ Each locum is assigned to only one location per 12-hour shift
✓ Coverage capped at 7 consecutive days, with rotation between locations
✓ Approximately 30 shifts/month across the coverage team
✓ Other pulmonologists are onsite at some locations
✓ ICU coverage requires Critical Care/Intensivist experience

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

✓ Inpatient Pulmonology
✓ Critical Care / ICU coverage
✓ Ventilator management
✓ Invasive airway management, including ETT, NT, and tracheostomy
✓ Non-invasive ventilation, including BiPAP/CPAP
✓ Bronchoscopy and bronchoalveolar lavage
✓ Chest tube insertion
✓ Central line insertion
✓ Arterial line insertion
✓ Thoracentesis
✓ Foreign body extraction
✓ Management of cardiac and respiratory arrest/failure
✓ Sepsis and metabolic disorders
✓ Renal failure and overdose/poisoning cases
✓ Pre- and post-operative management of general, vascular, orthopedic, neurological, and cardiothoracic patients

PREFERRED PROCEDURES

✓ PA catheter insertion
✓ Dialysis catheter placement
✓ Diagnostic/therapeutic taps
✓ Lumbar puncture
✓ Paracentesis

REQUIREMENTS

✓ Board Certified in Pulmonology & Critical Care
✓ Active Colorado license or active IMLC with LOQ in hand
✓ Recent Level I Trauma experience within the last 24 months
✓ Must be able to perform all required procedures
✓ ACLS, BLS, and DEA required for credentialing
✓ Clean malpractice and background
✓ Availability required for January–April 2027
✓ Must specify number of shifts available per month
✓ Local/drive-in candidates highly preferred

CREDENTIALING & EMR

✓ Credentialing timeframe: approximately 90–120 days
✓ Providers with IMLC must begin Colorado license application upon acceptance
✓ Epic training must be completed before the first shift
✓ Epic training is available Tuesdays or Fridays at 8 AM MT
✓ Training cannot be tested out of

TRAVEL

✓ Flight, lodging, rental car, and mileage reimbursement available according to applicable travel guidelines
✓ Local/drive-in candidates highly preferred

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

✓ Self-Query NPDB from within the past month required
✓ Provider must acknowledge and complete required Epic training
✓ Must provide availability for January–April 2027
