Kansas Critical Care Locums - MICU/SICU Coverage

Job description

I am working with a Kansas hospital seeking a Board-Certified Critical Care physician for ongoing locum coverage across a 35-bed MICU and SICU service.

Coverage is scheduled in 12-hour shifts with no call. The current need is weighted toward nights, although both day and night coverage may be available, with up to 15 shifts per month. The ICU averages approximately 18-20 patients, with two physicians scheduled during the day and one physician overnight. The unit is fully staffed with nursing, technicians and other hospital support, although there is no APP coverage.

The physician should be comfortable with a broad procedural Critical Care scope, including airway management, central and arterial lines, dialysis catheter placement, paracentesis, thoracentesis, bronchoscopy and chest tube insertion.

An active Kansas medical license, Kansas DEA, current Kansas Healthcare Stabilization Fund enrollment and ACLS are required.

If the assignment sounds potentially worthwhile, I would rather learn what schedule, ICU environment and compensation make sense for you and determine whether I can make the opportunity work.

  • 35-bed MICU/SICU service with scheduled 12-hour coverage and no call
  • Night-heavy schedule with up to 15 shifts per month
  • Procedural Critical Care scope with fully staffed ICU support
