Critical Care Physician - PRN Night shifts

Job description

We are seeking a Board-Certified Critical Care Physician for a PRN locum tenens opportunity in Salem, MA. This role is designed to backfill scheduling gaps and offers flexible night and weekend coverage in a well-supported ICU setting.

This is a local-only opportunity — travel and lodging are not provided.

Schedule

PRN Coverage – No Call

Shifts may include:

Nights: 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Weekends:

7:00 PM – 8:00 AM

8:00 AM – 7:00 PM

2:00 PM – 12:00 AM (Swing)

Coverage is needed on an as-needed basis to support schedule gaps.

Practice Details

Setting: 20-bed Adult ICU

Average Daily Census: 16–19 patients

Patient Population: Adults

The locum physician will:

Supervise Internal Medicine residents

Be prepared to perform procedures if residents are unavailable
(Residents typically perform procedures, but the attending must be capable and comfortable stepping in when needed.)

Requirements

Board Certification: Critical Care – Required

Massachusetts License: Required (No licensing assistance available)

Certifications: BLS and ACLS

Minimum Experience: 1 year

Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 180 days

Travel: Local candidates only – no travel reimbursement
