Job description

We are seeking a Board Certified Critical Care Physician for a PRN locum opportunity in Salem, MA. This is a hospital-based ICU position covering nights and weekends within a collaborative teaching environment.

Position Highlights
Setting: Adult ICU
Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical coverage only — no call
Schedule Options:
Night shifts: 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Weekend shifts:
7:00 PM – 8:00 AM
8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
2:00 PM – 12:00 AM swing shift
PRN coverage for ongoing scheduling gaps

Clinical Scope
20-bed ICU
Average census:
Weekdays: 16–19 patients
Weekends: 8–10 patients with 2 attending physicians on service
Supervision of Internal Medicine residents
Physicians should be comfortable performing procedures if residents are unavailable
Adult critical care patient population

Requirements
Board Certified in Critical Care required
Active Massachusetts license required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of experience required

Academic-style environment with resident involvement
Collaborative ICU team model
EMR: Epic

Additional Details
Credentialing timeframe: Approximately 90 days
