Job description

Specialty: Critical Care
Start Date: As soon as credentialed
Contract Length: 12 months with potential to extend
Shift Details: Day shifts (7a–6p or 8a–8p) and night call (6p–8a), either beeper or in-house—both required
Schedule: Day coverage in-unit; night shifts are on-call or in-house

Work Details:

Support Staff: Multidisciplinary team including RNs, APPs, Respiratory Therapists, PT/OT, Social Work, Case Management, Pharmacy, and Physician Leadership

Team Structure: 2 MDs during the day; 1 MD at night

Coverage Needs: Full-time preferred; part-time considered with consistent monthly availability

Patient Load: 13 patients per day

Population: Adults and Geriatric patients

Department Notes: Requires flexibility and strong decision-making in a high-acuity environment. Must work collaboratively with a comprehensive care team. Providers physically present in the ICU will lead 9:30 a.m. multidisciplinary rounds and respond to codes.

Hospital – Inpatient

EMR: Epic

Bed Size: 15

Procedures Required:

Thoracentesis

Paracentesis

Arterial & central lines

Mechanical ventilation management

Bronchoscopy (BAL & therapeutic)

Intubation

Travel Logistics:

Client covers travel, lodging, and rental car

Requirements:

Board Certification: Critical Care or Internal Medicine

MN Medical License (active)

DEA, BLS, ACLS required

3–5 years of Critical Care experience or completion of a 2-year fellowship

Credentialing Timeframe: 60–90 days
