Assignment Overview

A hospital-based pathology laboratory is seeking a Board-Certified Anatomic Pathologist to provide locum coverage due to physician shortages. This is an excellent opportunity for a pathologist looking for ongoing coverage with no call responsibilities.

Available Coverage Dates

September 7 – September 11

October 5 – October 16

All of November and December

Position Highlights

Clinical Responsibilities

General Anatomic Pathology

Surgical Pathology

Cytology

Frozen Section Analysis

Grossing of specimens

Cutting frozen sections on a cryostat

Annual Case Volume

Approximately 13,000 surgical pathology specimens

Approximately 3,000 cytology specimens

Practice Environment

Collaborative pathology group

Other pathologists present during coverage

CLIA-certified laboratory

Modern pathology equipment and imaging systems

Requirements

✔ Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology (AP)

✔ Active New York Medical License

✔ Current NPDB Self-Query Report (within 30 days of presentation)

✔ Ability to confirm available coverage dates at the time of submission

Credentialing

⏱ Estimated credentialing timeframe: 40–45 days
