Cytopathologist Needed for Locum Tenens Coverage in NY

The hospital is a large multi-specialty facility supported by approximately 20 permanent pathologists and an extensive team of laboratory and administrative staff. The facility operates with an established cytopathology program and provides substantial support resources to clinicians. Assignment lengths of one week are standard, with two-week assignments available as needed.

About the clinician's workday

The cytopathologist will provide on-site, day-shift coverage at a clinic setting, reviewing an average of 24 cases per day consisting of body fluids, fine needle aspirates (FNA), and gynecologic specimens. Procedures (approximately 5-6 per day) are performed by laboratory technicians, and grossing is not required for this role. No call or weekend coverage is associated with this position. Board certification in Cytopathology is required; candidates who are not board-certified in the subspecialty will not be considered.
