Start: ASAP (after locums privileges)
Contract Length: 13+ weeks
Schedule: Weekends only (Saturday & Sunday)
Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (10-hour onsite shifts)
Coverage Type: Scheduled shifts | No call

🩻 About the Role
We’re seeking a Diagnostic Radiologist (preferably a Body Imager) to support busy weekend daytime coverage in Long Beach. This is a high-volume, onsite role with strong clinical support and modern systems.
There is another radiologist on duty 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM, but this 10-hour shift is the highest-need coverage. Some shorter weekend shifts may also be available.
🔍 Scope of Practice
Modalities:
CT (heavy volume)
Plain films (heavy volume)
MRI
Ultrasound
Not included:
❌ Nuclear Medicine
❌ Cardiac imaging
❌ Breast imaging
Patient Population:
Primarily Adults (18+) and Geriatrics
Some pediatric ED trauma overflow (pediatric radiologists are onsite weekdays and on-call weekends)
📊 Volume & Productivity
Annual average: ~14,000 wRVUs for adult diagnostic radiologists
Weekdays: ~130–140 studies
Weekends: ~150–180 studies
Expectation:
Radiologist is expected to read all cases that come in during the shift and leave no outstanding work for the next radiologist.

Hospitals are adjacent and connected by hallways
Setting: Inpatient hospital-based practice
Support: Hospital-based support staff

📅 Commitment Requirements
Must be able to work at least 1 weekend shift per month (preference for more)
Required onboarding:
2 onsite weekday shifts (daytime) prior to starting
For system setup/training and quality review with department leadership
✅ Requirements
Board Certified Diagnostic Radiologist
Unrestricted California medical license (required – no licensing assistance)
DEA required
BLS or ACLS required
Minimum 1+ year of experience

Credentialing timeframe: ~30+ days
