Locum Emergency Medicine Physician | Renovated 28-Bed ED | Inverness, FL | PRN 12-Hour Shifts, No Call

Job description

Start: January 4, 2027 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: Ongoing PRN coverage
Coverage: Hospital emergency department plus an affiliated freestanding ED
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 6:00–18:00, 10:00–22:00, or 18:00–6:00
Call: No call
Volume: About 45,000 annual visits; 6% pediatric
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital with a recently renovated 28-bed ED (including bariatric and private rooms); stroke center
Patient Population: Large adult and senior volume with high acuity

• Emergency evaluation, treatment, and disposition of ED patients
• 36 hours of physician coverage and 40 hours of APP coverage per day
• No trauma and no OB/GYN; strong hospitalist support
• Tele-neurology being implemented
• Documentation in Cerner
• Travel covered: flight, lodging, and rental car

Requirements
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
• Active Florida license and DEA required
• Must be willing to work at the affiliated freestanding ED
• Must be open to PRN scheduling
• Non-local candidates only (more than 50 miles from the facility)
• Credentialing: approximately 90 days
