Locum Emergency Medicine Physician | 12-Bed Freestanding ED | Lakeland, FL | PRN 12-Hour Shifts

Job description

Start: January 4, 2027 (ASAP)
Length: 6-12 months initially
Coverage: Freestanding emergency department, with coverage at the main hospital ED when needed
Schedule: PRN; 12-hour day and night shifts
Call: None
Volume: 2-2.5 patients per hour during peak volumes
Practice Setting: Freestanding Emergency Department
FSED Details: 12 ED bays, single physician coverage, low- to mid-acuity, 8-10% admission rate, no nurse/APP triage
Main Hospital ED: About 80 bays, multiple EM providers on shift, mid- to high-acuity, about 30% admission rate, nurse/APP triage available
Trauma: No trauma designation
Orientation: 2 days of shadowing plus 1 day of IT/medical staff orientation

Requirements:
- Board certified in Emergency Medicine, or prior experience within this health system
- IM/FP candidates considered with at least 2 years of ED experience
- Case logs required to demonstrate procedural proficiency
- Willing to work at the main hospital when needed
- Emergency privileges not available
- Active Florida license and DEA
