Locum Emergency Medicine Physician | Float Pool, Freestanding EDs | Lakeland & Brandon, FL Area | PRN

Job description

Start: January 4, 2027 (ASAP)
Length: 6-12 months initially
Coverage: Float pool across freestanding EDs, with occasional main hospital coverage; some FSEDs have 100% vacancy
Schedule: PRN; AM and PM coverage required; 12-hour FSED shifts; main campus may use 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts
Call: None
Volume: About 2-2.5 patients per hour during peak volume
Practice Setting: Freestanding Emergency Departments
FSED Details: 12 ER bays, low- to mid-acuity, 8-10% admission rate, single-physician coverage, no nurse/APP triage
Main Hospital: About 80 ER bays, mid- to high-acuity, about 30% admission rate, multiple EM physicians, nurse/APP triage
Trauma: No trauma designation
Orientation: 2 shadow shifts, 1 IT day, in-house medical staff orientation
Affiliated Sites: Main hospital in Brandon plus freestanding EDs in the Lakeland, North Lakeland, Plant City, Riverview, University, and New Tampa areas

Requirements:
- Board certified in Emergency Medicine, or prior experience within this health system
- IM, FM, or ABEM backgrounds considered; non-ABEM physicians need at least 2 years of ED experience
- Case logs required to demonstrate procedural proficiency
- Active Florida license and DEA
