Locum Emergency Medicine Physician | Community Hospital ED | Texas City, TX | PRN 12-Hour Shifts, No Call

Job description

Start: January 4, 2027 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: Ongoing PRN coverage
Coverage: Hospital emergency department
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:00 or 19:00–7:00
Call: No call
Volume: About 55–60 patients per day (about 2 per hour), with periodic surges of 8+ per hour
Practice Setting: Community acute care hospital; 1 EM physician per shift

• Broad range of emergency cases: chest pain, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, and basic trauma (severe or penetrating trauma is rare)
• Standard ED procedures: intubation, procedural sedation, fracture reduction and splinting, chest tubes, resuscitation, laceration repair, I&D, and central lines
• Nursing support and on-call specialists
• Orientation plus two shadow shifts
• Travel covered: flight, lodging, and rental car

Requirements
• ABEM Board Certified/Board Eligible preferred; strong, experienced providers considered
• Active Texas license and DEA required
• Must be open to PRN scheduling
• Non-local candidates only (more than 50 miles from the facility)
• Credentialing: approximately 90 days
