Emergency Medicine Physician | Level III Trauma ED | Victoria, TX | 12-Hour Shifts, Locum or Perm

Job description

Start: As soon as credentialed
Length: 3 months to 1 year (permanent also considered)
Coverage: Emergency department
Schedule: Physician shifts 7:00–19:00 or 19:00–7:00; APP coverage 9:00–21:00
Volume: About 28,000 annual visits (about 77 per day); about 1.8 patients per hour; 25% admission rate; 3% transfer rate; 15% pediatric
Practice Setting: 189-bed acute care hospital, Level III trauma center; 22 ED beds

• Emergency evaluation, treatment, and disposition of ED patients
• APP support
• Specialty backup: general/trauma surgery, cardiology, GI, nephrology, OB, oncology, pediatrics, pulmonology, plastics, neonatology, and urology
• Teleneurology for emergent neurological consults
• Documentation in MedHost
• Travel covered: flight, hotel, and rental car

Requirements
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine preferred
• Active Texas license, or IMLC
• ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required
• Credentialing: approximately 30 days
